Women artisans associated with Shawl embroidery in Puthar Kreeri village of Baramulla known for the craft have been losing their identity as most of the artisans have given up the work due to financial crisis. The village is known for shawl embroidery as nearly 300 women were associated with the craft. They said that for over the last one year they have not been able to earn due to which they have turned bankrupt. “Most of the women have given up the work due to no earnings,” they said.
