Srinagar: Five persons, including a woman and a teenager girl, were injured after their car was hit by an army vehicle in Qazigund in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday.

The accident took place today morning in Wangund area of Qazigund.

Official said the Army vehicle was on its way to Qazigund town from Ujroo army camp when it hit the car bearing registration number JK3G-6795 coming from the opposite direction at Wangund.

Five of the victims were identified as Fayaz Ahmad Wagay (40), Taseena Fayaz (19), Mohammad Iqbal Wagay (27) residents of Khater-Check Abdul Rashid (35) and Mahmooda Akhtar (37) residents of Wangund, official said.

All the Injured were shifted to Emergency Hospital Qazigund (EHQ) were from one referred to SMHS hospital in Srinagar for specialised treatment.

Police has taken cognizance of the incident and further investigations taken up. (KNO)
