A twenty-four-member delegation of Bollywood big shots arrived in Kashmir yesterday and visited various locations in the valley.
The delegation from Bollywood includes the members such as Ajay Devgun Films, the Sanjay Dutt Productions, the Reliance Entertainment, the Rohit Shetty Films, the Zee Studios, the Adhikari Brothers & SAB (Marathi), the Endemol, director Rajkumar Hirani and the Excel Entertainment, reported The Hindu. Several representatives from the Producers Guild, Mumbai, also accompanied the delegation on the four-day visit to explore scenic backdrops for their projects.
G.N. Itoo, Director, Tourism of Kashmir, told the newspaper that “Kashmir has been receiving good response from the film-makers since the opening of the tourism.”
“The top production houses have visited various locations,” he said. “Kashmir is a natural backdrop for the film-makers and the department has been making it easy for them to get permissions for shooting.”
Kashmir’s tourism sector has suffered several blows since August 2019 clampdown and later the COOVID-19 pandemic. The officials believe that the Bollywood’s stroll will help to revive the sector.
