Srinagar: In a COVID-19 test drive at Government College for Women Srinagar, three students of the institution were confirmed positive on Monday for the deadly virus.

Officials of the College told a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that three of its students were tested positive for COVID-19.

“As of now, we have decided not to close the institution,” the official said.

The officials said, “At least 521 tests were conducted in Womens College Srinagar wherein three second semester students were tested positive for COVID-19 positive.”

Last week, principal of Islamia College of Science and Commerce ordered closure of the establishment for a week following the outbreak of COVID-19 among its two faculty members.

Pertinently, after a gap of nearly eleven months, the colleges in winter zones of Jammu and Kashmir divisions reopened on 15 February for physical academic activities. (KNO)
