Srinagar: Three militants were killed in a gunfight with government forces in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The cordon and search operation was launched on Tuesday evening by a joint team of Rashtriya rifles of Army Special Operations Group (SOG) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Tral after specific information regarding the presence of militants in the area.
Three dead bodies along with the weapons were recovered from the encounter spot, official said, adding that the killed militants are believed to be locals and their identification is being ascertained.
