Srinagar : Social Reform Organisation (SRO) -Kashmir accorded dignified burial to yet another non-local COVID deceased person on Monday .
In a statement the NGO said, “Yesterday, a distress call was received by SRO-Kashmir, wherein a non-local person pleaded with us to help them accord burial to a poor non-local labourer, Rayees Ahmed Halwai, who hailed from Bijnour UP. He had breathed his last in SMHS Hospital due to COVID19 complications,”
SRO-Kashmir, without losing time reverted back to the bereaved family, extending them their full for all the burial related arrangements, including burial space, said the statement.
“Completion of all all formalities with the Srinagar District Administration was entrusted upon the bereaved family. Upon further course of interaction with the bereaved, it was found that the family was unable to manage necessary documentation including issuance of Death Certificate and sanction for the burial,” it said.
SRO-Kashmir helped the bereaved family to get all the paper work done.
“Today in the afternoon, SRO-Kashmir received an official communication from the District Administration, Srinagar, with a nod for conducting burial of the deceased in accordance with the COVID19 protocols.
Dead body of the deceased was transported in a Government Ambulance to SRO managed burial ground, situated at Firdousabad, Batamaloo,” the NGO said.
Volunteers of SRO, offered Nimaz-e-Jinaza, prepared the grave and buried the deceased in accordance with the COVID SOPs.
Deceased person is survived by his widow and small kids. SRO-Kashmir has offered them the required financial help for meeting their travel expenses to reach their native place in UP.
