The year 2019 has been the most tragic time for Jammu and Kashmir, especially for Kashmir Valley, where life changed on 5 August 2019, when the central government revoked the partial autonomy of the region. From internet shutdown to curfew and from detention of political leaders to local youth, life has been at halt. While the decision was taken for the development of the region, as per the government, but the economy as well as development of people’s lives has seen no change but trauma. Despite the strictest clampdown on internet and movement, we at The Kashmir Walla continued our job of reporting how people lived through this phase.
