Police in central Kashmir’s Budgam district arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances and cash from their possession.

A police official said that during naka checking at the Sheikhpora area of Budgam, the police party of police post-Humhama apprehended two persons when they tried to flee from the spot upon noticing the police naka.

During their personal search 183 capsules of Spascore-Von plus, 1.5 Grams of Heroin like substance, 29,050 rupees and four signed blank cheques from JK Bank were recovered.

Police identified the two drug peddlers as Tanveer Nabi Ganie of Ompora Budgam and Lateef Aziz Paul, a resident of Sheikhpora Budgam.

Police said that an FIR vide number 285/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Budgam and an investigation was taken up.

Police requested community members to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighborhood. “Anyone found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per law,” Police added. (KNT)
