Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday extended his best wishes to his Pakistani counterpart Imran Khan for a speedy recovery, who tested positive for COVID-19.
Pakistan’s PM Khan tested positive two days after he got a COVID-19 jab. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Faisal Sultan confirmed the news on Twitter as well.

According to Federal Parliamentary Secretary National Health Services Nausheen Hamid, the Federal Government Hospital’s staff had administered the vaccine on Khan.
Khan followed Pakistan’s President in receiving a Sinopharm vaccine jab on Thursday. Khan, 68, received his the jab in Islamabad, Sultan had confirmed.
Sinopharm began developing an inactivated vaccine against the coronavirus in January 2020. In December 2020, Sinopharm announced that the vaccine has an efficacy of 79.34 percent, leading the Chinese government to approve it. The Chinese state-owned company has yet to publish detailed results of their Phase-3 trial.
Pakistan officially launched its National COVID Immunization Program across the country in early February shortly after receiving the Chinese government-donated Sinopharm vaccines, with the frontline healthcare workers given the priority for inoculation, reported Xinhua news agency.
