The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) students have brought laurels to the University by winning two gold medals at the National Thang Ta Martial Art Championship held recently at University of Jammu.

Gold Medalists Mujtahid Mushtaq and Ahtisham Baba and varsity’s Rugby player Mohd Azim who represented the JKUT at the Senior Rugby National Championship held at Bhubaneswar Odisha were felicitated by the Vice Chancellor IUST Prof. Shakil A. Romshoo during a special ceremony held at the campus.

While congratulating the players Prof. Romshoo called on all the students to participate in differing sporting events and extended full support to university’s players for excelling in different co-curricular activities.

He also complimented the Directorate of Physical Education and Sports IUST for its continued efforts for creating a genuine sporting ecosystem at the university.

Those present during the ceremony included Registrar IUST Prof. Naseer Iqbal, Sports Authority of India Members Dev Raj Singh, Rajeev Kumar Dogra, Gajendra Kumar, Finance Officer Sameer Wazir, HoD Department of Civil Engineering Dr. Shujaat Hussain and Assistant Director Physical Education & Sports Dr. Hilal Ahmad Rather.
