The army high command has appointed the Lt Gen ADS Aujla as the new General Officer Commanding (GOC) of XV Corps also known as Chinar Corps based in Badamibagh area of central Kashmir’s district Srinagar.
“Lt Gen ADS Aujla has been appointed the next commander of the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps,” ANI news reported on Friday.
The commander has commanded a division in the Kashmir Valley and has an experience in counter-militancy and counter-infiltration operations.
XV Corps is a Corps of the Indian Army which is responsible for military operations in the Kashmir Valley.
The Corps has also participated in all military conflicts with Pakistan and China till date.
