Former Chief Minister of the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah Friday lashed out at the present ruling dispensation saying that ‘Kashmir is far from normal today’ and that tourism activity in Jammu and Kashmir cannot be a barometer for normalcy.
“Tourism is not normalcy, it’s a barometer of economic activity. Normalcy is the absence of fear, the absence of terror, the inability of militants to strike at will, the presence of democratic rule & by any yardstick you choose to use, Kashmir is far from normal today,” Abdullah tweeted.
On Thursday, police said that the gunmen fired upon the migrant employee identified as Rahul Bhat, an employee in the local Tehsil office, at Chadoora this afternoon.
He was immediately shifted to Sub District Hospital Chadoora wherefrom he was shifted to SMHS hospital here for specialized treatment but later on succumbed to his injuries.
