Poonch: Armies of India and Pakistan exchanged sweets and pleasantries along Line of Control along Poonch district on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr on Thursday, officials said.

A senior army officer told GNS armies exchanged sweets and compliments at Poonch-Rawalakot Crossing Point and Mendhar-Hotspring Crossing Point in Poonch district. He said representatives of both the Armies exchanged the sweets and pleasantries in the atmosphere of bonhomie and festivities.

The ceremony is seen as a confidence building measures in the backdrop of recently agreed ceasefire between both the countries.

The gesture was appreciated by both the armies and expected to promote good will and mutual trust, official sources added. (GNS)
