Director Srinagar Airport told Kashmir on Wednesday said that a total 41 cancellations took place on Wednesday including scheduled flights due to accumulation of snow on the runway and low visibility.

Meanwhile, Jammu-Srinagar NHW has been closed for vehicular movement due to landslides and shooting stones at many places on NHW and snow accumulation around the NVYUG Tunnel.
Train service between Banihal and Baramulla was suspended due to snowfall.
The heavy snowfall in Kashmir also snapped electricity as snowfall damaged transmissions lines and electric poles in several parts of the valley.
Chief Engineer KPDCL said that power supply to all district headquarters, except Kulgam will be ensured by today evening.
“In Srinagar 85% power supply will be restored by today evening. The restoration work on electric Tower at Kulgam is likely to take more time,” he said.
Reports said that a residential house was also damaged in Tral area due to heavy snowfall, while two vehicles also got damaged in separate incidents.
Following heavy snowfall, examinations scheduled for today were also cancelled by Kashmir University, Central University and Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission.
Notably, weather man had predicted snowfall and rains in Jammu and Kashmir on February 22 and 23 and had said that the inclement weather may affect road and air traffic in the UT. (KNS)
