Kiwi fruit that is rarely grown in Kashmir has a variety of health benefits and does not require any kind of spraying of pesticides. The Department of Horticulture in Baramulla district in 2002 developed demonstration orchards in the district and have been “successful”. “We have been yielding a good amount of fruit with less investment in it,” said a farmer, adding that they lack the material needed to pack the fruit for export.
