Khatamband is a heritage art of making ceiling, by fitting small pieces of wood (preferably walnut or deodar wood) into each other in geometrical patterns. The process is hand crafted without using any nails. Khatamband was largely used in shrines, palaces, houseboats and royal houses, but now, common people are also utilising the craft to beauty their homes.
