On Tuesday, the police claimed to have arrested two overground workers of a militant outfit Al-Badr in south Kashmir’s Awantipora, reported a local news agency, Global News Service (GNS).
In a statement to media, the police said that acting on a specific information Awantipora Police and the government Forces arrested two overground workers at Ladhoo Crossing when the duo was traveling on a scooty from Shopian to Khrew, in south Kashmir today morning.
An unidentified police official told GNS that the arrested duo has been identified as Rayees-ul-Hassan, a resident of Gadikhal Awantipora, and Mushtaq Ahmad Mir, a resident of Dadsara Awantipora.
Incriminating material of proscribed outfit Al-Badr has been recovered from their possession which includes 6 lakh rupees meant for militant funding of Al-Bader outfit, the police claimed. The Scooty bearing registration number JK01AC- 4035 used for the commission of crime has also been seized.
A case has been registered under FIR number 55/2020 under relevant sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in Police Station Khrew. Further investigation is going on, the statement reads. (GNS)
