Two militants of Ansar-ul-Gazwatul Hind (AGuH) were killed in a gunfight in the Nowgam area of Srinagar district on Wednesday evening, police said.

Kashmir Zone Police informed that a gunfight broke out in the Nowgam area on specific information generated by police.

Police said that in the ensuing encounter, two militants belonging to the AGuH militant outfit were killed.

Meanwhile, quoting Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar, police said that the duo was involved in an attack on a non-local laborer in Pulwama on 2 September.

The militants have been identified as Aijaz Rasool Nazar of Pulwama and Shahis Ahmad alias Abu Hamza.

“Killed #terrorists were affiliated with #terror outfit AGuH & identified as Aijaz Rasool Nazar of Pulwama & Shahid Ahmad @ Abu Hamza. They were involved in recent #terror attack on an outside labourer namely Muneer ul Islam from West Bengal on 2/9/22 in Pulwama,” police tweeted. (KNO)
