A 17-year-old boy was saved from drowning by the timely action of police while he was taking a bath at Drang waterfall in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said Saturday.

An official told a local news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the boy drowned while taking a bath and his friends informed the locals. “A few local youth into the gushing stream with the help of ASI Shakeel of PS Tangmarg and rescued the boy,” the official said.

He said that a team was deported there after locals informed them. The boy was identified as Shamir from Srinagar. Locals present at the spot hailed the prompt police action that helped save the young boy—(KNO)
