The Metrology department on Saturday raided one of the famous departmental stores of Kashmir capital Srinagar for cheating customers in gross violation of rules laid down by the government.

An official told a local news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) after receiving specific inputs about cheating by one departmental store at Residency Road, in Srinagar, accordingly a team from Legal Metrology Department raided ‘Pick N Choose’ and found that MRP was increased on the products by pasting the new stickers on them.

He said that pasting stickers is a violation of Legal Metrology Act 2009 and the department has seized all those goods having fabricated MRP stickers.

The market checking will be intensified in the coming days as per the directions of Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, he added. (KDC)
