Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Congress president G.A. Mir on Monday strongly condemned the killing a Sarpach affiliated with the party and claimed that slain had been “feeling unsafe from last 2 months and that the authorities were informed about it.”
“He had been from last two months telling that he was not feeling safe. He had conveyed it on his own means to the authorities,” Mr. Mir told a local news gathering agency over phone.
“He was chosen unanimously by the locals. He got 51 votes while his opponent, also a Pandit candidate, from BJP got ten votes,” Mr. Mir said. Unknown gunmen shot dead the Sarpanch Ajay Panditha of Dooru earlier in the afternoon. (GNS)
