After two days of the militant attack in Baghat area in Srinagar outskirts, in which two policemen were killed, the Inspector General of Kashmir Police ordered an increase in security deployments at all main locations in the region, reported Asian News International (ANI) quoting unnamed sources.
“IG Kashmir has directed increased security deployment at all vital locations, snipers to be placed on high-rise buildings, relocating permanent bunkers and anti-terrorists operations to be enhanced,” the sources told ANI.
On Friday, two policemen were killed after they were attacked by the suspected militants in Srinagar’s Baghat area.
As per the reports of ANI, Jammu and Kashmir Police had said the preliminary investigation on the basis of CCTV footage and other evidence indicates the involvement of two militants in the Baghat attack on 19 February in which two policemen were killed.
One of them has been identified as Saqib, a local militant, and another as a foreign militant, affiliated with Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) . The police have started a search operation to locate the militants, sources told ANI.
