Srinagar: The detention of former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, under the Public Safety Act, was extended by three months on Tuesday.

The Home Department this evening extended PSA of Mufti by three months. Detentions of a senior National Conference (NC) leader Ali Mohammad Sagar and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader Sartaj Madani was also extended under PSA by three more months by the J-K administration.

Mehbooba was detented in August 2019 when BJP-led Central government abrogated Jammu and Kashmir’s special position and bifurcated it into two Union Territories.
