Suspected militants fired upon a joint checkpoint party in the main town Shopian in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Sunday.
An unnamed senior police officer told a local news agency, Global News Service (GNS), that militants fired some rounds of fire on a joint checkpoint party of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the police at Shugloo bridge main town Shopian.
However, militants managed to escape from the spot, the officer added.
No loss of life or injury was reported till the filing of this report as the entire area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers. (GNS)
