A 45-year-old man on Tuesday died by suicide by jumping into river Jhelum from Cement Bridge here in Noorbagh area of Srinagar.
Official sources told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that one unidentified person jumped into river Jhelum from Cement Bridge Noorbagh, saying that people at the spot tried to rescue him.
Soon after being retrieved, he was immediately rushed to SMHS hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
The deceased has been identified as Hilal Ahmad Wani, son of Abdul Rehman Wani of Sector 11 Hamdania Colony Bemina Srinagar, officials said, adding that the body sent GMC mortuary for radiology—(KNO)
