Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has greeted the people on the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The Lt Governor, in his message, said that the festival of Eid highlights the joy of sharing. Eid-ul-Fitr marks the culmination of the period of fasting and prayer during the holy month of Ramzan and inspires all to work towards building a compassionate, harmonious, peaceful and prosperous society, he added.

“May this auspicious day strengthen mutual goodwill and instill in us a sense of unity and pride in the syncretic culture of the UT of J&K,” the Lt Governor said.

Also, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir zone Vijay Kumar too extended greetings to the people on the occasion.

“IGP Kashmir Shri Vijay Kumar greets people of Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. May God shower his choicest blessings and bless all with peace, safety, good health and prosperity,” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.

Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police Srinagar city Rakesh Balwal also extended greetings on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

In his message, SSP Srinagar hoped that the auspicious occasion would strengthen the bonds of communal harmony and brotherhood and be a harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in the UT.

SSP also prayed for communal harmony, brotherhood and upholding of human values.

He further said that the festival reminds us to share our joys with destitute and deserving.

“The occasion teaches us to rededicate ourselves for the service of people, reaffirm our commitment towards brotherhood and selfless service to humanity.”

SSP has also prayed for peace and prosperity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. (KNS)
