The Karnah-Kupwara road reopened for vehicular traffic after remaining closed for hours due to fresh snowfall at Sadhna Top, officials said.
They said that the trucks carrying essential stock including vegetables were allowed to ply towards Karnah sector.
Drivers have been cautioned regarding overloading and also advised to use chains due to the slippery road conditions,” said an official.
As per the official record, 1ft of snow was recorded at Sadhna top.
SDM Karnah Gulzar Ahmad Rather said that the traffic on Kupwara-Karnah highway was suspended as a precautionary measures. (KNS)
