Police have arrested a youth accused of injuring two of his fellow students with a knife in Beehama area in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

“Today around 3 pm in the afternoon, a scuffle broke out between two groups of boys of Dreamland school, Beehama, Ganderbal wherein one student (one student) of Bandybagh, Ganderbal attacked two fellow students by sharp object/knife resulting injuries to both of them. The injured students were identified as Hidayat Ahmed and Ibrahim Ahmed, both the residents of Beehama, Ganderbal”, reads a police statement.

“Soon after the incident, both the injured students were shifted to SKIMS for treatment. (Student) who attacked his fellow students fled away from the spot. On this incident FIR No. 116/2023 was registered under relevant sections in Police station Ganderbal.”

“A team was constituted under the supervision of DSP PC Ganderbal and deputed to arrest the accused, after strenuous efforts police team caught the accused near Baroosa,” reads the statement.

“During investigation it came fore that the incident took place over minor issues and some more students were involved in scuffle. (The attacker) who is a student of class 12th of Dreamland school has been aggressive since the beginning and as per school principal he was involved in multiple fights with other students in the past,” reads the statement.

“With all the legal procedures and formalities the delinquent will be produced before Juvenile Board along with other students involved in the scuffle,”  the statement reads further. (GNS)
