The Delhi Police has announced a reward of 100000 rupees for any information that leads to the arrest of wrestler and Olympics medalist Sushil Kumar, who is on the run in connection with the murder case of a former junior national wrestling champion Sagar Rana, reported NDTV.
The announcement has come around two weeks after Rana was murdered outside the parking lot of Chhatrasal stadium in New Delhi.
A reward of 50,000 rupees has been announced for Ajay too, who is also on the run in the same case, reported NDTV quoting Delhi Police officials.
As per the report, Delhi court earlier had issued a non-bailable warrant against the accused in connection with the murder of Rana at Chhatrasal Stadium, including Kumar who is one of the most successful athletes in the country. He won a silver medal in the 2012 London Olympics, and four years earlier, he had taken home a bronze medal in the Beijing Olympics.
An incident of a brawl, inside Chhatrasal Stadium, among wrestlers was reported on 4 May in which some wrestlers were injured and they had to be admitted to a hospital and one of them died during the treatment, as per the newspaper.
On 5 May, Kumar had denied the allegation saying that his wrestlers were not involved in the fight, read the report.
