A woman hailing from Manyari village near International Border in Kathua’s Hiranagar sector was injured during shelling from Pakistani rangers, unidentified officials told a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO) on Thursday.

Locals from the area told the agency that the ceasefire violation took place in Hiranagar sector of Kathua district, due to which Manyari village got affected.

“In the intervening night of Wednesday-Thursday, Pakistan rangers fired shells in Manyari village in which a middle-aged woman got injured,” said officials.

A woman with splinter injuries was evacuated to a local hospital and is presently undergoing treatment in Government Medical College, they said while identifying the injured woman as Nisha Devi from Manyari village. (KNO)
