Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today condemned the Handwara incident which left two civilians injured outside a mosque on Thursday.
Mehbooba tweeted: “Condemn today’s incident at Handwara which left 2 civilians injured post an altercation with the army. GOIs interference in religious matters by its unwarranted surveillance of a simple act of offering prayers shows that Kashmiris pay dearly for the illusion of Naya Kashmir.”
Two civilians suffered bullet injuries during an altercation between locals and army troopers who were filming afternoon prayers at a mosque in Handwara tehsil of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday.
