Fire broke out in a forest compartment that was brought under control by firefighters after hard efforts in the Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

A forest official told a local news agency, Kashmir News Trust (KNT), that a fire broke out in Forest Compartment number 77 in Nambla Uri.

He said firefighters with the help of forest employees and policemen controlled the fire and stopped it from spreading to other areas.

A police official said that a case has been registered and the cause of the fire is being ascertained. [KNT]
