A paramilitary trooper was injured after suspected militants hurled a grenade towards government forces in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

GNS quoted a police officer saying that militants lobbed a grenade on forces near SBI Bank in main town Sopore.

“A CRPF man received splinter injuries and he has been shifted to a nearby hospital,” the officer said, adding that the area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.

Militants have intensified attacks on forces in the recent days ahead of 15 August.
