Srinagar: Husband-wife duo who tested positive for COVID-19 ransacked the hospital in Kulgam, south Kashmir, with the help of their relatives after they refused to accept the hospital tests.
Sources said that the husband-wife duo were admitted at Damhal Hanjipora Kulgam hospital, where they were tested positive for COVID-19. Later, the couple termed the report fabricated, and with the help of their relatives, ransacked the hospital, forcing the police to intervene.
A medico stationed at the hospital, Dr. Muzaffar, said that the couple, who live adjacent to the hospital, created ruckus in the hospital. They broke window panes, however with the help of police, they were brought to JLNM Rainawari Hospital in an ambulance.
In Srinagar, the couple again refused to deboard the ambulance. Later, with the help of police and JLNM hospital staff, they were evacuated from the ambulance and shifted to isolation wards.
“They are basically upset and we have to understand their mental level. They are asymptomatic and believe that they are coronavirus free,” said a medico working at the hospital. “We have to treat them affectionately.”
Meanwhile, JLNM Rainawari Hospital received two more positive patients on Tuesday afternoon. Both these patients are females and were quarantined in Zakura, Srinagar.
The JLNM hospital currently has twenty-five COVID-19 patients admitted in isolation wards. Yesterday, two little sisters were discharged after they were test negative. (KNT)
