COVID-19: Army organises screening camp in Anantnag

In the coronavirus outbreak, the army organised a screening-cum-awareness camp at Girls Model School in Arwani village, Anantnag, south Kashmir. Organized by Rashtriya Rifles-1, the aim of the camp was to make local residents conscious about the COVID -19 disease.

The local residents were initially screened by the Army’s Medical Officer for any COVID – 19 like symptoms and subsequently they were made aware about the pandemic. Also, keeping the lockdown in view, the essential items like medicines, masks, and food hampers was distributed.

Block Development Officer, Zainapora, Bilal Ahmed was also present at the screening camp. By far, Anantnag has not reported any positive case of the COVID – 19. In Jammu and Kashmir, at least 184 people have tested positive for the virus; among them four have died.
