Srinagar: Over eighty-four samples of patients suffering from COVID-19 like symptoms were collected today at JLNM Hospital, Srinagar; one among them was of a youth detained under Public Safety Act in Central Jail, Srinagar.

Speaking to The Kashmir Walla, a senior official at the hospital said that over eighty-four samples lodged in different quarantine centres were collected at JLNM Rainawari Hospital, Srinagar, and sent to Chest Disease Hospital for testing.

“Among these eighty-four suspects one is a PSA detainee lodged at Central Jail [in Srinagar],” the official told The Kashmir Walla.

A doctor at JLNM Hospital also confirmed to a local news wire, KNT, that the samples of the PSA detunue, who resides in Srinagar, were collected for testing. The doctor added that the samples were taken after the youth developed symptoms of fever and cold. (With inputs from KNT)
