COVID-19: 7 minors among 308 fresh cases in J-K

Fourteen travelers, seven minors, and three soldiers were among 308 new COVID-19 cases reported in Jammu and Kashmir in the last twenty-four hours, officials said on Tuesday.

Among them, they said, 174 are from Jammu Division and 134 from Kashmir Valley.

Also, six COVID-19 deaths have been reported—five from Jammu Division and one from Kashmir Valley. Giving district wise details, they said Srinagar reported sixty-five cases, Baramulla (14), Budgam (21), Kupwara (2), Pulwama (12), Anantnag (4), Bandipora (7), Ganderbal (4), Kulgam (4), Shopian (1), Jammu (99), Udhampur (14), Rajouri (10), Doda (6), Kathua (7), Kishtwar (6), Samba (14), Poonch (2), Ramban (0) and Reasi (16).

A number of these cases were confirmed at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura, Chest Disease (CD) hospital, and Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag and include among others, three cases from the army’s Badami Bagh Cantonment and seven minors.

The GMC Anantnag cases include a male (45) from Litter Pulwama, two females (25, 21) from Iqbal Market, a male (29) from 116 Bn CRPF Pahalgam, two females (50, 25), and a male (28) from Arigutnoo.

The Shopian cases include a female (75) from Zainapora Shopian.

The Bandipora cases include female (60) from Kunan, male (55) from Nasbal Bandipora.

The Baramulla cases include a female (81) from Jatti Baramulla.

The Ganderbal cases include a female (25) from Banhama, male (61) from Kangan Ganderbal.

The Jammu cases include a male (30) from Kujwani Jammu.

Moreover, they said, 281 more COVID-19 patients recovered and were discharged from various hospitals—111 from Jammu Division and 170 from Kashmir Valley. (GNS)
