After a long, harsh winter, spring is here in Kashmir. Opposite to the snow-covered mountains, the airplanes fly over the fields covered in a sheet of white flowers.

In the faraway fields of Pulwama, south Kashmir, the bloom’s soothing shadows are attracting people too. With the almond blossoming, the colors of life have returned to Kashmir’s streets and parks.

In Srinagar’s downtown area, the famed Badamwari Park has always been the main source of attraction in the spring as people from all walks of life, including tourists, throng the park. From white, violet, to pink, the colors spread across the canvas of the park hosts families and friends alike.

Although, despite the bloom, the park was kept out of bounds for the visitors at the spring’s arrival. The administration, however, will be opening the park for visitors from 21 March.
