Body of missing Boniyar woman recovered from Jhelum

Authorities on Sunday afternoon recovered the body of a 31-year-old woman from river Jhelum who had gone missing from her home in Azad Pora Boniyar since this morning.

Reports said that the woman (name withheld) went missing from her home on Sunday morning.

After failing to get any clue on searching for her at all possible places, the family finally approached the police and filed a missing report.

However, after several hours of intensive searches, the woman was found inside river Jhelum near Chandanwari Boniyar, much to the shock of the family. The body was subsequently retrieved by the police with the help of locals.

A police official said that on receiving a report regarding the missing woman, a police team was rushed to the area. “After hours of searches, the woman was found from Jhelum near Chandanwari in Boniyar”, the official said adding the body was at PHC Boniyar for necessary medico-legal formalities, following which it would be handed over to the family.

“A case has been registered in this regard for investigations”, the official further said. (GNS)
