A militant and a army trooper were killed while another trooper was injured in a gunfight in Padgampora area of Awantipora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
An official said that a joint of team of police, Army’s 55 RR and CRPF after receiving information about the presence of militants in the area launched search operation.
He said that as the joint team of forces intensified searches towards the suspected spot, hiding militants fired upon the party, which was retaliated to, thus triggering a gunfight.
He said in the ensuing gunfight a militant and army trooper were killed while another army trooper was injured.
He said that identification of the militant is being ascertained.
“The injured soldier has been shifted to 92 base hospital Srinagar for treatment,” the official said . (KNO)
