Srinagar: Mayor of Srinagar, Junaid Azim Mattu has requested people to avoid congregational Friday prayers tommorow in the wake of coronavirus scare prevalent in Jammu and Kashmir.

Mattu who has been quite active on his Twitter following the report of three cases testing positive and union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh while taking to his twitter handle said, “I’m of the FIRM opinion that congregational Friday prayers should be avoided and disallowed tomorrow. There is no distinction in “congregation” – whether religious or not. In the absence of such an unambiguous order yet – I REQUEST people to avoid congregational prayers tomorrow.” He tweeted.

Over four thousand people have died so far in the world due to virus, while as thousands of others including politicians have been infected with it.
