At least three avalanches struck three villages in the Tulail area of Gurez Valley in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Friday blocking the Kishanganga river.
An official said that the water flow of the Kishenganga river was blocked after three avalanches hit three villages in Tulail.
He said the avalanches hit Wazirthal, Neeru and Gujran villages.
He said the avalanche at Gugran Tulail also affected the water supply to several habitations.
The official said teams have already been dispatched to the area to assess the situation and gather more data.
Meanwhile, residents have been asked to use caution and refrain from venturing outside in areas close to Kishanganga, mountains, or avalanche-prone areas. (KNS)
