An army trooper was critically injured on Sunday afternoon when his service rifle went off accidentally in Paribal area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

An unidentified official told a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the army soldier identified as Hambir Kumar of 27 Rashtriya Rifle (RR), posted at Paribal camp was critically injured when his service rifle went off accidentally while he was on line duty this afternoon.

The official said that the injured soldier was rushed to a 92 base hospital in Srinagar for advanced treatment. (KNO)
