An Army personnel of JAKLI is reportedly missing from central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Monday evening, official sources said.

They said that “an Army personnel of JAKLI identified as Sameer Ahmad Malla son of Mohammad Yaqoob Mall, a resident of Lokripora Khag area is missing since Monday evening from his native village”

The army personnel was on leave and is posted in Jammu.

A police official confirmed the incident to Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Dot Com and said efforts are on to locate his whereabouts.

However, father of missing army personnel Malla said that it will be premature to claim that his son is missing. “He might have gone to see his relatives. His wife had to undergo surgery and that is why he visited home from Jammu. He was in touch with us and last evening he called his mother and then his phone went off,” Muhammad Yaqoob Malla told news agency Kashmir News Trust.
