Srinagar: Amid forecast for cloudy but mainly dry weather, night temperature recorded a drop in Jammu and Kashmir with mercury settling below sub-zero in famous resorts of Gulmarg and Pahalgam on Tuesday.
A meteorological department told GNS that upper reaches received snowfall with Gulmarg receiving 10 centimeters of it in 24 hours till 0830 hours today.
The snowfall has stopped now and there is mainly cloudy weather, the official said.
The activity was mainly on yesterday as plains received rains with Srinagar recording 4.3mm during the time along with 2.4mm in Qazigund, 5.2mm in Pahalgam, 8.6mm in Kupwara and 1.4mm in Kokernag.
“Weather is likely to remain partly cloudy with chances of occasional light rain/snow (over higher reaches) till March 13,” an official said. He added that there’s no forecast of any “significant weather” till March 13. (GNS)
