Authorities have declared two villages of Sogam in Lolab as Red-zones after surfacing of nine positive cases on Saturday.

Block Medical Officer Sogam Dr. Abdul Raheem confirming the development to Global News Service (GNS) said that the notified red zones included Wani Mohalla and Shah Mohalla. The two villages have reported six and three cases respectively, the official said.

Meanwhile SDM Sogam Aijaz Ahmad Bhat has said that entry and exit points to both the villages will remain closed for next six days. “The restrictions will remain in place till samples of the primary contacts of the infected persons are taken for tests”, the official said. (GNS)
