People Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday said that Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra came like a breath of fresh air in Kashmir.

Mufti, in a tweet, said, “Rahul Gandhi’s yatra comes like a breath of fresh air in Kashmir. It is the first time since 2019 that Kashmiris have come out of their homes in such massive numbers.”

She added: “It was a great experience to walk with him.”

Mufti joined the Congress leader-led yatra that resumed from the Chersoo village in Awantipora today.

Gandhi resumed his yatra today morning after a day’s halt due to an alleged security lapse in the Qazigund area on Friday. He stopped his yatra for a while at Lethpora and laid a flower bouquet at the spot where over 40 CRPF troops were killed in a militant attack.

The yatra will end at Pantha Chowk’s truck yard today and will resume tomorrow.
