Six tenants sustained burn injuries in a rented house in a cylinder blast in the Rajbagh area of uptown Srinagar.

Local sources said that there was a cooking gas blast in the kitchen at Aramwari area of Rajbagh during Iftar time.

They said that six tenants including three women received burn injuries and were taken to SMHS Hospital Srinagar.

A doctor at SMHS Hospital Srinagar said that six persons were brought in the hospital with burn injuries. He said that all are being treated and are stable.

Five among the six injured are from north Kashmir’s Kupwara district while one is from Anantnag.

The doctor identified the injured as Muhammad Ashraf (40), Abdul Kabir (40), Bilkese Akhtar (45), Najma Akhtar (30), Tawkeer Ahmed (20), all residents of Kupwara and Yasmeena Bano from Anantnag. (KNT)
