Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday claimed to have busted two militant Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) modules and arrested five Over Ground Workers (OGWs) in north Kashmir’s district Bandipora.
“We have arrested five militant helpers of militant outfit LeT, who were providing logistics and transportation to militant in the districts,” Police said.
The police said that on a specific input forces recovered two Chinese Grenades in Bandipora along with OGWs identified as Irfan Ahmad Bhat resident of Ashtango, Sajad Ahmad Mir resident of Arin, Shariq Ahmad Mir resident of Arin and Irfan Ahmad Jan resident of Qazipora Bandipora who were providing SIMs and other logistic support to militants and other incriminating material was also recovered from their possession.
“Whereas during naka at Rakh Hajin, security forces arrested one militant helpers namely Irfan Aziz Bhat resident of Hajin and recovered one chinese grenade from his possession,” Police said.
The police said that the said OGW was also in touch with Pak based militant Umer Lala and killed militant Saleem Parray of Hajin.
“The said militant helpers along with his Pak based militant were planning to create militant incident in Hajin area. In both the cases, cognizance has been taken in Police station Bandipora and Hajin under relevant section of law and further investigation taken up,” Police said. (KNT)
