An operation from the River Police is underway to trace the body of a Kupwara girl from the river Jhelum in Srinagar city.

As reported earlier, a 17-year-old girl jumped from the footbridge connecting Sonwar with Gadhanzpora Rajbagh area of Srinagar into river Jhelum on Sunday evening.

A River Police official said that since Sunday evening the operation is underway and efforts are on to trace her body. [KNT]
